A Wrinkle in Time - Madeleine L'Engle

I had only heard wonderful things about this book, and went in with high expectations. Which is usually my downfall.... and it held true for this one. I knew going into it that there was a heavily Christian influence, but having grown up in the church, I assumed this would only endear the novel further to me..... maybe not.

Rating: 3 out of 5. There were plenty of things I liked, but also plenty of things I just couldn't get along with. I found it quite slow to get to the point, as well as predictable (not a great combination!).

Age suggestion: 9+

Ability level: 9+ assuming they're a competent reader. It's not overly long, but it has a few tricky words and concepts.

Content notes: There is a rather God-centered message through the story, and there's not much violence and nothing romantic/sexual.

I'm definitely going to see the movie and report back - but if you're as interested as I was in reading the book first, check it out here!
